Heavy 5150 – Vadim Taranov

The Heavy 5150 is an amp simulation of the well known Peavey 5150.

Official Page and Download

You are looking for a heavy metal sound? Here you go! This is a classic disorted sound and it is really good. Downsides: Gain/Disortion level is not adjustable (just 0 and 100) and it uses quite some CPU power.

I’ve made a short demo for you! (Link fixed now….)
First one is with a Kalthallen Cab response and the second (next in playlist) uses a Mesa 4×12 V60 IR by Ownhammer.

GUI: 10/10

Looks like an amp.

Function: 7/10

Great sound but not versatile in disortion. The EQ works well.

Efficiency: 4/10

~4,8% on my FX6300

Personal opinion: 7/10

It sounds good but is more or less an one-trick-pony. And you cannot run many instances due to the load.
